This month we were happy to buy some much-needed supplies for Ironwood Pig Sanctuary! The sanctuary is home to over 600 pigs and understandably needs a lot of supplies to care for all of them. Zinc oxide is used on the pigs during the summer to prevent their skin from burning in this intense Arizona sunshine. Strawberry Nutri-Grain bars are a tasty way to give the pigs their medications including antacid tablets. All of which we were happy to donate a large supply. With the summer heat come flies, and fly repellent prevents the pigs from getting bit and irritated skin lesions and potential infections. After helping to stock the supply of medications and ointments, we had to throw in a tasty treat and we sent them some tasty animal crackers to enjoy!
